DESCRIPTION:

Join us for an interactive course designed to bring you up to speed in molecular pathology. The course will focus on next generation sequencing, including an overview of assay selection, validation considerations, informatics, and troubleshooting.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Understand the key considerations for developing and validating an NGS assay
• Identify common pitfalls/errors that occur in NGS-based assays (wet-bench and bioinformatic)
• Through the use of case studies, recognize potential quality issues in NGS data/results

REGISTRATION RATES & INFORMATION

Space is limited so be sure to register early. Online registration is now closed. You may email AMPEducation@amp.org if you would like to register or you may register on-site at the Salt Lake Ballroom on November 15, 2023.

8:00am - 9:15am (local Utah time)

• A brief lecture series will familiarize you with concepts and recent advances in NGS.
• All lecture notes and any affiliated materials will be available for download.

• Attendees will break-out into small groups to discuss case studies focusing in next-generation sequencing

Afternoon Session

• Complete the brief course evaluation. We value your input!
• You will be sent an email outlining how you can claim continuing education credits. 

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS

Instructions for how to claim credit will be emailed to participants after the course. 

Accreditation Statement            

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of ASCP and the Association for Molecular Pathology. ASCP is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation Statement – The ASCP designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

Medical Laboratory Education (CMLE)

This continuing medical laboratory education activity is recognized by the American Society for Clinical Pathology as meeting the criteria for up to 3.25 CMLE credits.  ASCP CMLE credits are acceptable to meet the continuing education requirement for the ASCP Board of Registry Certification Maintenance Program.
